About Jeff Broad
I started working in the oil industry in the early 1970’s by joining the Burmah Castrol Refinery Research Laboratory. My career in hydrocarbon fluid characterisation started a few years later with Moore Barrett and Redwood. In 1980, I was employed by Core Laboratories in Dallas and received one years training in their preferred techniques. This was followed by commissioning/managing laboratories in Singapore, Maracaibo (Venezuela), Louisiana (USA) and Aberdeen (Scotland). I then spent a couple of years with the Atomic Energy Authority in Dorset (England) overseeing their Research Laboratory which performed projects for various oil companies.
I moved to Schlumberger in 1990 to manage fluid sampling and analysis facilities in Nigeria, France, Azerbaijan and Dubai.
I left Schlumberger in 2001 to work as an independent consultant in fluid sampling, analysis and EOS development. During this period, I have successfully completed projects on some of the largest and most complex hydrocarbon fields in the world.
